Open Encrypted Emails from 3rd Parties
Dudek staff may communicate with 3rd parties through encrypted email when transmitting sensitive data. Dudek utilizes Microsoft Office 365 Message Encryption to protect these emails.
This document is intended to be shared with the 3rd party recipients of encrypted email to aid in opening and replying to protected emails.
There are three methods for opening your encrypted message:
1. If you are using a Microsoft 365 email account in Outlook 2016 or newer, Outlook on the web, or via the Outlook mobile app, the message should just open as usual.
If you are not using Microsoft 365, or using an older/different mail client, you will see the following prompt.
Click “Read the message” and continue with one of the options below:
2. You may also elect to receive a “One-time passcode.
- After selecting this option, you’ll receive a single use code in your email, enter the code in the browser window prompt and then select “Continue” to read your message.
